The USA-IFK held an Officials Seminar at Gray Wolf Kyokushin Dojo in Holley, New York, bringing together over 40 participants for an afternoon of intensive officiating training. The seminar covered rules and judging for Open Kata, Point Fighting, Semi-Contact, and Full Knockdown, with over four hours of hands-on instruction.
Led by Shihan Richard Upton, Shihan Greg Stokelin, and Shihan Bill Richards, the seminar reflected decades of combined experience and was exceptionally well-received by all in attendance.
USA-IFK President Shihan Mike Monaco expressed his gratitude to all those involved:
“I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to Shihan Upton, Shihan Greg, and Shihan Bill for the excellent seminar. Their willingness to share from years of experience made it a valuable event for everyone."
Special thanks were also extended to Sensei Artur Kuzio from the New Jersey Dojo and Andrew Fern from the Watertown Dojo for making the trip to participate. Several local instructors also joined the seminar as guests.
Sensei Karl Biedlingmaier was thanked for graciously hosting the seminar at his dojo, and Tracie and Gary Johnson were recognized for their ongoing support and technical expertise, including videotaping the entire seminar for future use by all USA-IFK dojos.
