Train with USA-IFK Champions and International Medalists Lyric Schenker and Caitlyn Anderson

USA-IFK Lightweight Kyokushin Champions Lyric Schenker and Caitlyn Anderson will be sharing their knowledge and experience when they lead a special Women's Training Event on Saturday, August 9, at Fighting Spirit Karate in Gardiner, New York.

Lyric Schenker and Caitlyn Anderson have established themselves among the USA-IFK's most accomplished young competitors. As members of Team USA, they competed at the 2024 46th British Open and 14th Cup of Europe in the UK, one of Europe's premier international Kyokushin tournaments. There, Schenker made history. Competing in the U18 Cadet Lightweight Division against some of Europe's top up-and-coming fighters, she became the first American to win a Gold Medal in an international Kyokushin competition. Anderson joined her on the podium with a Silver Medal in the same division.

Now, the two accomplished competitors are giving back to the martial arts community by sharing the knowledge and experience they have gained through years of training and competition. Open to women of all experience levels and all striking styles, the event provides a welcoming and supportive environment in which to develop sparring skills and build confidence.

The training event will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Fighting Spirit Karate, located at 19 Osprey Lane, Gardiner, New York. The cost is $10 per person.

Participants should bring:

Boxing or MMA gloves
Shin guards
Mouthguard

Whether preparing for tournament competition or stepping into sparring for the first time, participants will have the opportunity to learn from two of the USA-IFK's top young competitors while enjoying quality rounds in a positive training atmosphere.
