During the 2019 Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, Shihan Michael Monaco, Chairman and President of USA-IFKK, had the opportunity to meet Arnold Schwarzenegger, the legendary actor, former Governor of California, and multi-time Mr. Olympia World Champion.

The meeting took place at the exclusive VIP Dinner, part of the multi-sport weekend that hosts over 20,000 athletes across dozens of disciplines, including full-contact karate. Shihan Monaco was in attendance representing the USA-IFKK during the inaugural IFK Kyokushin Americas Cup, held in conjunction with the Arnold Battle of Columbus.

This memorable moment reflects both the growth of Kyokushin Karate as a respected discipline within the international martial arts community, and the strong presence of USA-IFKK on a world-class stage.
